Dominick DiOrio competes as one of twelve young choral conductors in the world for the prestigious Eric Ericson Award. ANNUAL HOLIDAY CHOIR CONCERT Bring the family for this annual LSC-M tradition! The Concert Choir and Chamber Singers perform holiday masterworks with orchestra and a cappella classics. NATIONAL CONDUCTING MASTERCLASS Dominick participates as a Conducting Fellow in this annual conducting opportunity. Robert Sund and Marguerite Brooks are head podium coaches and clinicians with David Hayes, Allen Hightower, Hans Graf, and others participating. Original Compositions (* premiere) 30 June 2009 - Berkshire Choral Festival Montreal FACULTY RECITAL Mezzo-soprano, Mary Gerbi, sang the premiere of Dominick DiOrio's "From Blossoms" for an audience of excited choristers attending the BCF week. The work is based on a poem of Li Young Lee and is set for tenor and guitar, countertenor and harpsichord, and mezzo-soprano and piano. Mitchell Vines performed on piano.
The Ithaca College Trombone Troupe premieres their new commissioned arrangement of Anthem as well as other works. Conducted by Chuck De Palo. Ford Hall - Ithaca College - Ithaca, NY - 8:15pm

Featuring Pennsylvania Girlchoir and Keystone State Boychoir Dominick DiOrio is the commissioned composer for the 6th annual Commonwealth Youthchoirs Gala, composing a work to be performed by the combined choirs of the PGC and KSB. The work is based on a poem of W. B. Yeats and is set for two choirs, piano, flute, and percussion. Kimmel Center - Philadelphia, PA
The Rhinebeck Choral Club and Charles Kelley, artistic director, have commissioned Dominick to write a new work for SATB, piano, and cello, on the text of Langston Hughes' "Freedom's Plow." Two performances in mid-May. Saturday 8pm; Repeat Sunday 3pm - Poughkeepsie, NY
